MODBUS for Serial MicroDAQ
Eagle Technology is proud to announce the release of it's Modbus Support for all MicroDAQ serial data acquisition products.
SERIAL MICRODAQ MODBUS FEATURES
- Open source Protocol
- Easy to implement
- Communicate to our Daq Devices from any Mosbus Compliant Device
Modbus is communication standard developed in the late 1970's by Modicon. It has become the de-facto standard for the industrial instrumentation and control market. Utilising a master/slave format, the protocol involves sending serial packets from a master device to a slave device. This action is performed using one of 2 variants of the protocol, Modbus-RTU or Modbus-ASCII.
All serial MicroDAQ products can now be ordered with integrated modbus firmware. This allows the unit to act as a slave device and communicate using the Modbus protocol. One is able to a communicate from the slave device to a PC acting as a master device or to any other Modbus-compliant device such as a PLC. The slave data acquisition device can either be polled for a status or sent a command to carry out.
MicroDAQ devices are fitted with either RS232 or RS485 serial interfaces and are available with different analog or digital i/o options. These include 16 or 32 analog inputs, 4 or 8 analog outpus, 24~120 DIO lines as well as upto 6 counter/timers. Analog is resolution is either 14-bit or 16-bit (model dependent).
We plan to implement Modbus TCP/IP for all our ethernet network devices in the near future.
